Pyramid Tours

The pyramids are the monumental legacy of civilisations that built on a scale the modern world still struggles to comprehend — structures so massive, so precisely engineered, and so enduring that they have defined their landscapes for millennia. This site covers the world’s most significant pyramid sites: the Egyptian pyramids of Giza and Saqqara, the Maya pyramids of Chichén Itzá and Tikal, and the mysterious pre-Columbian pyramids of Teotihuacán.

Egypt

Giza — the Great Pyramid of Khufu (the last surviving Wonder of the Ancient World), the Sphinx, and the Giza Plateau on the edge of Cairo. Built approximately 2560 BC. You can enter the Great Pyramid’s interior (separate ticket, limited daily numbers).

Saqqara — the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the world’s first monumental stone building (approximately 2670 BC). The prototype from which all subsequent pyramids evolved, 30 km south of Cairo. Often combined with Giza in a full-day tour.

Mexico

Chichén Itzá — the Temple of Kukulcán on the Yucatán Peninsula. The equinox serpent shadow, the Great Ball Court, and the Maya astronomical precision. One of the New Seven Wonders of the World. 2.5 hours from Cancún.

Teotihuacán — the Pyramid of the Sun (climbable), the Avenue of the Dead, and the mysterious pre-Columbian city 1 hour from Mexico City. One of the largest cities of the ancient world.

Guatemala

Tikal — Maya temple-pyramids rising above the Petén rainforest canopy. Climb Temple IV for the panoramic view across the jungle, with howler monkeys and toucans in the canopy.
