Description
Tikal National Park stands as a colossal archaeological site in Guatemala and Central America, spanning 16 square kilometers and boasting over 3000 meticulously documented structures.
At 8:00 AM, your Tikal Expedition guide will meet you at Mundo Maya Airport or your hotel in Flores, Remate. A scenic one-hour drive follows, taking you straight to Tikal, where you won’t need to disembark during our all-inclusive tour packages.
Upon arriving in Tikal, our guide will unravel the captivating saga of our Mayan forebears, shedding light on their lifestyles and architectural feats. The journey commences in the Central Plaza, where the narratives of the Grand Jaguar Temple (Temple I) and the Acropolis unfold. The ascent of Temple II, also known as the Temple of the Masks, is an option. Progressing through the tour, you’ll explore the Lost World complex before approaching the pinnacle of Temple V – the renowned Temple of the Two-headed Serpent, towering at a majestic 70 meters above the ground. From its summit, the panorama of Temples I, II, and III crests lies ahead.
After the enriching four-hour expedition, a delectable lunch awaits at an on-site restaurant. Upon its conclusion, a return to Isla de Flores grants an optional stroll around the perimeter (time permitting before your flight).
The itinerary:
- 8:00 AM: Pick-up at Mundo Maya International Airport, Flores, Santa Elena, or El Remate.
- 9:20 AM: Arrival at the entrance checkpoint for ticket purchase.
- 9:45 AM: Begin guided tour of Tikal’s urban area, exploring its most awe-inspiring facets.
- 1:30 PM: Tour concludes, returning to the bus parking within Tikal National Park. Lunch follows at a nearby restaurant.
- 2:30 PM: Lunch ends, boarding the vehicle for the journey to Flores. An independent island exploration is optional.
- 4:30 PM: Board the bus for transfer to the airport or your hotel. Ensure timely presence for flights.
